Self-described as an “expert for family-owned businesses”, Volker has more than 20 years of experience in the consulting sector.

Experience

After five years as the audit manager of audits of both separate and consolidated financial statements of large middle-market groups of companies and as a project leader in corporate finance, he spent ten years as a managing partner of the consulting arm of the Ebner Stolz Group.

Thereafter, he was the partner-in-charge of the Restructuring & Finance department at the locations of Dr. Wieselhuber & Partner GmbH in Stuttgart and Hamburg. In this period he played a decisive role, not only in developing strategies but also in accompanying corporate transactions from all angles. In 2011 he founded Cognos Germany and operates now as Managing Partner. Volker’s competences are based on his extensive knowledge of finance and accounting.

He has specialised primarily in the sectors of engineering, automotive and renewable energies. In addition to comprehensive teaching work as a specialist for key corporate decisions and structured solutions to succession issues, Volker also sits on a range of advisory boards.

Education

Volker is a Graduate of the University of Tübingen (Diplom Kaufmann) and has an accounting diploma.

Life drives and passions

Volker is a voluntary member of the executive board of the State Rowing Association of Baden-Württemberg and is a lecturer at the Universities of Heilbronn, Tübingen and Pforzheim. During his downtime, he spends his free time mainly with his family, rowing, jogging or riding his motorbike.
