Cognos advised cyber security services specialist Cybercrowd on their disposal to private equity firm Limerston Capital to create a new platform business alongside assets from an earlier cyber security acquisition.

Receiving private equity investment from Limerston Capital represents a significant milestone in CyberCrowd’s continued growth and ambition as the new business aims to become a leader in cyber security services in the UK.

This strategic acquisition brings together two complementary businesses to deliver greater value to clients through an expanded and enhanced portfolio of services.

The new Group will offer not only highly advanced digital forensic capabilities, e-Discovery solutions and a proprietary forensic case management software, but also stronger 24/7 UK-based Security Operations Centres, highly accredited incident response solutions, and scale across its cyber consultancy and penetration testing services.

The Group will explore additional opportunities for expansion in the cyber security market, as it delivers seamless, end-to-end cyber resilience and digital capabilities for customers across a range of sectors, including those at the forefront of ensuring national security.

The Cognos UK team acted as sell-side lead advisor on the transaction which included identifying suitable investment partners, developing an enlarged financial model combining the two businesses, negotiating detailed terms, supporting the business through an extensive due diligence process and project managing the deal to a successful completion.
